Community Service and Civic Engagement

In anticipation of the Third Age transition, some explore civic, cultural and service organizations for new opportunities to contribute to society and/or make the world a better place for the next generations.

Ask yourself these questions:

• Would community service offer meaning and fulfillment that my job no longer holds for me?
• How could I give back to my community or to the world at large?
• What needs exists that I am uniquely qualified to fill? What are my special talents and strengths?
• What do I care strongly enough about to make me take action?
• Do I want to leave a legacy through a personal contribution of my time and/or money?
